ABOUT US

THIS IS THE STORY OF THE RISING BAR

We opened our doors on January 21st 2016 in Inman Square, Cambridge. Taking over the spot of an older bar, we rebuilt everything in the restaurant along with a 150 year old reclaimed oak bar top which comfortably seats 20 people along side our high top seating in the bar area for 45 - 50 people.

We won “Boston’s Best Sports Bar 2016”, a true compliment to our 10 TV’s including a 100” TV in our dining room, seating up to 30 people away from the hustle & bustle of the busy bar.

Ian, our General Manager, having previously worked at our sister bar The Phoenix Landing for a number of years, has built up an amazing bar program with an awesome draught list, signature cocktails & a very aggressively priced wine menu. Our Irish gastropub styled Dinner & Brunch menu’s will be sure to impress. Don’t just take our word for it, swing by The Rising and try us our for yourself.

15 New Things To Do in Boston

Whatever the score, customers win at this Inman Square bar with an Irish reverence for beer and whiskey and an American devotion to sports. Kevin Treanor’s newest venture features a neo-Dublin gastropub menu — Irish breakfast, braised beef gnocchi, sauteed Brussels sprouts — that complements the 20 draft taps and 30 wine choices.

Improper Bostonian

Boston takes sports seriously. The great thing about the Rising, just opened in January, is that it takes everything else seriously too.

Yelp Reviews

"My boyfriend and I went for dinner and drinks last night, and it was an awesome experience. The drinks, the food, and the service were all top notch."

Townie Tour of New Cambridge Street Restaurants

The Easter Rising was an armed insurrection that took place during Easter week, 1916 in Dublin, Ireland. The rebellion was an effort to end British rule and establish an Irish Republic. That particular battle was lost, but became the impetuous for change and independence that marched down a much bloodier road leading to a Free Irish State in 1922. The new Irish pub in the neighborhood, THE RISING, is named for that courageous spark that lit the fires of autonomy.

This Irish Gastropub and Sports Bar Rises to the Occasion

Take a stroll down Cambridge Street, just east of Inman Square, and you’ll encounter a sidewalk sign in front of the neighborhood’s newest eatery. One morning, its cheeky hand-scrawl reads, “Our brunch is an experience that chalk is unable to convey.” Intrigued, we step inside.

Review of The Rising Bar

"My husband, son, and I have eaten at The Rising Bar twice now. The service is great. They are wonderful with my 2 year old."

Get Ready for The Rising

A new sports bar is climbing towards an official in Inman Square (1172 Cambridge St.) The Rising Bar, which is taking over the old Hit Wicket space, is just awaiting final inspections before it can open, according to Boston Restaurant Talk. Things must have gone well today as the restaurant posted on Facebook this evening that it would have a soft opening on Friday at 5 p.m., featuring an abbreviated menu.
